My Old Phone:

This is an ink sketchbook drawing of my old phone.  It includes collage and reminds me of that summer moment.  The longer I draw, the more information I want to remind me of that day notated on the sketch.  I want the date, the time, the temperature, the type of weather, the kind of media I used and what colors.  I have been known to include quotes, recipes, what was playing in the background and overheard conversations.

No Need for a New Phone Yet:

An Uber driver recently gave me the business about having such an old phone.  I was planning to get a new one, but since the old one still worked it wasn’t a big priority.  Just before I made a down payment for a new one and agreed to an additional $29 a month fee for two years to pay for it, I learned that the latest phones don’t allow you to take the battery or sd card out.  Hell that.  So instead I got a new sd card for the old phone; it works even better now.  Another dodged bullet.

That’s funny. I was thinking of all the phones we’ve owned over the years. One year my son had a Juke. My daughter had a Chocolate. My niece had a Sidekick. I had something green.

I’ve had my share too. Someone told me that they are made to last 18 months; at the time contracts were two years. Isn’t that a racket? Delighted that this one has lasted so long.
