Portrait of My Late Uncle

For this drawing I used the uniball jetstream fine point ballpoint pen in black.  It is a portrait of my late uncle William Stephenson, the comedian.  After this t-shirt was printed, I lost my uncle.  He was very proud of me and encouraged me often.

It also fits into a natural hair series that I am working on.  Check back for more drawings of people rocking their natural hair and my two cents on the recent Natural Hair Movement.  I understand that there is a demand for protest art.

Adding Original Artwork to the Store

It has been a challenge sell framed prints of original artwork with my signature while keeping the print on demand process.  It looks like I will need to receive the print before framing in order to sign it, and then send it back to get framed.  I don’t want to spend extra time and postage sending the prints back after I sign them, and I also don’t want to do all the shipping myself.  I think that the framer has an option where they will send me a frame that I can slip the print in after signing.  This still has me doing shipping, except I will already have a box the perfect size, I just have to get there.

Maybe the answer is that only original artwork will get a hand signature, and the prints will get a logo instead.  I can send the original artwork to the framer in a tube and that will reduce my shipping responsibilities.

If you know of a better solution for this problem, I would LOVE to hear about it.

Requests for Wall Murals

There have been some requests for murals.  I have seen wall decals offered for sale and I think this will be a great solution since painting large murals is something else that is out of my comfort zone.  Even I would like to have a wall mural in my space.  I have some pieces that I think would be great for this function.  We’ll see how it turns out.

Requests for Products That I Have Not Forgotten About

  1. One with the black king chess piece oriented to the side of the shirt
  2. A t-shirt with the forest and red robin
  3. A hoodie with the afro queen
  4. A tote bag with the afro queen

Are there any other drawings here that you think would make a good t-shirt or hoodie?  Let me know in the comments!
